This class will teach the student how to submit and position people without the use of different grips of the Gi. This is the fighting style typically used during MMA matches, and in some tournaments. It is recommended that the student begins his/her training with Gi classes; as it is more technical, and will give the student a solid foundation for a smooth transition.
Phil is a great for BJJ, I Have had the opportunity to work side by side with him coaching..the knowledge and care you get is unmatched. Everyone who trains with under Phil are fortunate.
We've been going here for my daughter's BJJ classes for almost 3 years now...she still loves it! Laura is very attentive to the entire business aspect such as ease of registration and notification of events, and Phil has a style of teaching that always keep the kids engaged! He motivates them every class and includes life lessons that are used on and off the mats. My 7 year old daughter's ability to quickly make decisions and follow directions has improved so much and I credit these classes! I love the bully-proof teachings too for the school age kids, and how they are able to think and respond to a bullying situation not just to protect themselves, but also those around them. I'm so grateful Phil and Laura are part of our community!
I just began my adventure. I am blown away by the professionalism and craft of this team. Now... let the bruises form!
